Correction on the year - it must have been 2000 not 1997.
I think it might have been 1998. I remember discussing the LSU/Notre Dame Independence Bowl with a guy in line. I was picking on him about us winning and he was picking on me about them beating us earlier in the season and that was why we were at the Indy Bowl. I looked it up and they played Dec 28, 1997…which would make this Jan 1 1998. Sound right?
