SEC Championship

My friend Robert secured us a couple of tickets to the SEC Championship. THANKS ROBERT! So we decided to make it a day trip. We flew down that morning. Went to the Pre-Game. Partied at the game! And flew back that night. It was a whirl-wind trip but so much fun!!

Here's Oreo showing off his colors! Thanks Poppie!

Natalie and L.A. at the Pre-game. We are waiting to take our picture with...

...the Heisman!

Funny story...We happened to pick up a stray Heisman retrieval card. Well we ended up getting the card mixed up with ours. The person who's card we picked up was not only an LSU graduate but a Doyline graduate! Small world!!

SEC celebrating 75 years!

Hey Fighting Tigers!
Fight all the way
Hey Fighting Tigers!
Win the game today
You've got the know how
You're doing fine
Hang onto the ball as you hit the wall
And smash right through the line
You've got to go for the touchdown
Run up the score
Make Mike the Tiger stand right up and roar
Give it all of your might
As you fight tonight
And keep the goal in view
Victory for LSU!
Pre-Game
Half-Time.

Someone asked me why I only have pictures of the band...well I love the band AND I get too excited by the game to actually take pictures of it.

Natalie enjoying the game!L.A. enjoying the game. (Notice the depressed Tennessee fan beside him. I think it might not have helped that he was a little imbibed.)
One last shot before we had to run to catch our plane.
Final Score: 21-14
Victory for LSU!!!

Pam's Visit

In November my friend Pam came to visit us. We started off our sightseeing at the Smithsonian Administrative offices. This is where they house some of the really neat items.

This was the beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby.
Here they have things as diverse as Jimmy Doolittles goggles to...

...statues of Buddha.

From the admin building we walked down to the Air and Space Museum...stopping along the way to take pictures of things that interested us. Here is a beautiful rose garden with a festive lamp that Pam is posing near.

These birdhouses also caught my eye. I love how the sun shines through them.

The Air and Space Museum not only has cool rockets...
...it is also the temporary home of cool items of American History like the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz and...

...Dorothy's Ruby Slippers.
And of course the sign to "anywhere but here" from my favorite show...Yep...M.A.S.H. Hey there hot lips. :-)
We finished off the day with Pam touching a moon rock. (We won't tell here where that rock's been...)

Day two...the zoo. Here are the world famous pandas: two-year-old Tai Shan and his mother, Mei Xiang.

Pam and I decided that we weren't satisfied with just taking pictures of the animals...we wanted to be in the pictures too. Here we are with a tiger! You can see him in the top left corner.

And with some flamingos.

And finally with a statue of a sloth bear.
We had a great time and I can't wait until the next visit!

LSU vs La Tech

Tracy, Abbie, Alexis and I took a road trip to see LSU play La Tech.

Water to the left and water to the right...we must be getting close!
Are we there yet?

Yes, we are here! Man...I miss this place!!!

Mike VI says "Welcome to Death Valley"

Tracy and I are geared up and ready for the game!

It's getting close...
Here come the tigers!

Alexis did have more fun than it appears in the pictures of her...and as you can tell, Tracy and Abbie had a ball!

That one is in the history books! Final score 58-10

That's all folks!

Tanner's Football

I was really fortunate that while I was home I got to catch a couple of Tanner's football games. There he is. Number 99. Running to get in on the action.

CJ and Jen were taking a picture of me taking a picture of them.

Then having laughing fits about the picture they took. (You'll have to talk to them to see that picture.)

Bryce and Daddy checking out the game. Bryce says "GET 'EM!!"

Gracie is cheering on her bubbie. "NaNa...they scored!"
Way to go Tanner! His team made the play offs AND he got a trophy!
Tanner let Bryce try out his trophy for size. I think you look good with the trophy and football. LSU here we come! Geaux Tigers!!!

Family Time

Some random shots from my October/November visits:
Tanner bought Gracie a pumpkin cookie. He is a great big brother! I think she was more interested in the icing than the actual cookie. So being the wonderful aunt that I am I showed her how to imprint the picture of the pumpkin on her cheek. I showed her on me first and this was her art work. She was so grateful that she licked my cheek clean when we got back home. Here is a picture of my cheek.Gracie showing off her tongue.
Bryce was serenading me with "Apologize" by OneRepublic. He was really good!

Tanner and me goofing off on the trolley at the boardwalk.
Gracie and Mommy...awww...how sweet.

I was being sneaky...Emily didn't want me to take her picture so I snapped a few when she wasn't paying attention.
Austin...then...and...now...

Bryce and Gracie holding Papa D.
Nat and Abbie hanging out by some sticks in the Mall of Louisiana.

Nat and Alexis by the same sticks...

FMSOC

I recently attended a training class (Financial Management Staff Officer Course) at Keesler AFB in Mississippi. Here are some pictures from my time there. This is the post Katrina boat house. They've done a great job on base getting things back up and running.

I took this one stormy afternoon as I was driving back to the hotel. It was one of the boat ramps right outside the gate.

Everyone knows that Halloween is my favorite holiday so of course I HAD to take a picture of this beautiful display at the Beau Rivage Casino.

Here is the new shield for the school. It is very pretty but I'm sure glad that I don't have to try to keep these floors clean!

Up and down the hall there are these little niches with a different Major Command highlighted. This is a picture of the AF Space Command niche...where I started.
